Sure, since the 90's are a lot of countries in NATO there actually auch nicht hingehören (Baltikum, anyone?), aber das sind letzlich Länder die den Wert der Landesverteidigung und eines europäischen (naja, fast) Militärs anerkennen.
Und wir? Unser einziges Motiv zur NATO beizutreten ist ja unverholener Luxembourgismus. Wir wollen uns hinter der NATO verstecken und glauben dafür nix tun zu müssen. Gut, ersteres ist ja eh schon so, aber manchen sind ja die popeligen 0,72 Prozent noch zu viel die wir noch ausgeben. Also wollen wir uns zu einer Art mitteleuropäischem Island machen. Kein Militär, aber trotzdem Verteidigung.
Die NATO wird natürlich den Teufel tun und sich diesen sicherheitspolitischen Amokfahrer genannt Österreich eintreten.
